The startup arm of Smart Path IT

Getting it built is the easy part.

We build your product, then run it — and get you through the security questionnaire that decides your first enterprise deal.

We are the startup arm of a UK managed IT company, so the part that usually gets left behind is our day job.

When founders call us

“We’ve got a prototype and no CTO.”

Someone technical who owns the decisions, without hiring at £150k.

“We’ve won a pilot and they’ve sent a 200-question security questionnaire.”

The certifications, the evidence and the answers. Usually the fastest thing we do.

“Due diligence starts in six weeks and I don’t know what they’ll find.”

We look before they do, and fix what matters.

“I built it myself on Bubble and now a real customer wants it.”

We tell you whether to harden it, extract part of it, or rebuild — and we do say “keep it”.

That last one has its own page — what to do when you’ve outgrown Bubble, Lovable or Replit.

What we do

Build, run, certify

Build

Product design and development.

Eight to twelve weeks for a first real version. Milestone-billed, and the code is yours as you pay for it.

Run

We keep it alive after launch.

Hosting, monitoring, backups, patching and access control — from £395 a month. We do not have to have built it; if it is already live we will take it on.

Certify

We get you through procurement.

Cyber Essentials, UK GDPR documentation, access control and the evidence pack. So when a buyer asks, there is an answer.

The part everyone leaves out

Most builds stop at launch. Yours has to pass procurement.

The first serious customer you win will ask how you handle access control, backups, incidents and personal data. Most founders find this out when a deal stalls.

Done at month three it is routine. Done at month thirty, after a buyer has asked, it is expensive and it holds up the deal you were trying to close.

Getting UK businesses through this is what our parent company does every week. It is not a bolt-on we bought in — it is where we came from.

We’ve built our own

Three products that are ours, live, with customers on them

We are not an agency that builds other people’s ideas. These three are ours — built here, shipped, and running in production with customers on them. We know what happens after launch because we live there: the 2am alert, the certificate that expired, the dependency that broke.

Regulas

Making Tax Digital software for sole traders and landlords, built to HMRC’s specifications.

ParkSphere

Holiday park management software for UK caravan, holiday and touring parks — bookings, maps, maintenance and analytics.

FixFinder

A directory for finding and contacting trusted local garages and mechanics across the UK.

What it costs

Four numbers. All of them are on this site.

Day rates, the equity option, the minimum term and what it costs to leave are all published too. We checked ten UK managed IT firms and four studios that build for equity in September 2026, and not one of them publishes a price. We think that’s daft, so we don’t.

The question everyone asks first

Why do I have to pay monthly before you’ve built anything?

Because the running costs start the day your product exists, not the day you can afford them. We’ve watched founders get a product they then can’t host, secure or support. The monthly also makes the build cheaper — commit for longer and you pay less up front. And it starts at £395, which is less than one day of a UK DevOps contractor at the going rate.

The other things you’re about to ask

What if we can’t afford it in six months?

Then tell us and we hand over properly. Your cloud accounts are in your name from day one, you own all the code, and you get 30 days and full documentation. We’d rather you leave cleanly than disappear.

Why are you cheaper than everyone else?

Three reasons. We are not paying for a London office. Run is priced per product rather than per person, so you are not billed for headcount that has nothing to do with keeping your product up. And the monitoring stack is already running across our own products, so adding yours costs us far less than buying it in would. The catch is that Standard is deliberately thin — monitoring and maintenance in working hours, not an incident commitment. That is what Priority is for, and here is exactly what is in each.

What if you take the equity and disappear?

Our shares vest against delivery milestones, not time. Stop delivering, stop earning. And you have a buy-back right at a pre-agreed price whenever you want us off the cap table.

Find out if we’re in your budget before you talk to us

Four questions, an honest range, and the working shown. Most agencies make you book a call to find this out. We don’t think you should have to.
